 Linden Bulk Transportation (LBT) is seeking a Maintenance Manager for our Linden, NJ Terminal.

Headquartered in Linden, New Jersey.  LBT has over 350 power units, 675 trailers.  In addition to its headquarters in Linden, NJ, LBT has facilities in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Texas, and Louisiana.  As a wholly owned subsidiary of Odyssey Logistics and Technology Corporation, LBT facilitates the growth of its clients through its large-diversified fleet. 

The Maintenance Manager has overall ownership of the Technicians, Maintenance Facility and grounds. Monitoring technicians, work being performed, planning of the work to ensure proper coverage and output of facility is in-line with Company direction.  The Transportation, Maintenance Manager is the champion of continuous improvement to have the high standards set by Linden Bulk Transportation.

About the Role:

·        ­­­­Perform daily and weekly inspection of facility to ensure smooth operations

·        Hire and train maintenance employees to carry out specialized duties

·        Delegate maintenance issues to appropriate personnel for effective resolution

·        Inspect equipment to identify operational inefficiency and facilitate optimization

·        Perform periodic maintenance and routine calibration of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems

·        Manage the process of disposal of worn-out/damaged machinery as well as the installation of new equipment

·        Proffer technical advice and recommendations to a maintenance team to ensure an efficient workforce

·        Conduct risk assessments to identify possible hazard around building facilities or premises

·        Design and implement programs for effective maintenance operations

·        Ensure adherence to health/safety procedures and policies

·        Prepare and manage maintenance budgets in order to meet set objectives

·        Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary to ensure availability of required resources

·        Conduct negotiations with third party contractors to determine the rate and terms of service

·        Supervise the activities of a building upkeep personnel to ensure they maintain a clean and orderly facility

·        Maintain accurate record of maintenance operations and present to upper management reports of daily activities

·        Creates a positive hiring and on-boarding experience for driver candidates


Job Qualifications:

·        High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required

·        Class A CDL or the willingness to obtain within the first year of employment

·        Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or related field preferred

·        5+ years of relevant experience in maintenance

·        Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical Class 8 systems

·        Previous managerial experience highly preferred

·        Experience managing multiple vendors

·        Ability to consistently maintain positive employee relationships

·        Can effectively and efficiently handle both administrative and mechanical responsibilities

·        Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite) and a solid understanding of data analysis software
